This award supports individual scientists or groups of scientists proposing bold, groundbreaking, exceptionally innovative, original, and/or unconventional research with the potential to create new scientific paradigms, establish entirely new and improved clinical approaches, or develop transformative technologies. Applications in any area within the biomedical sciences are welcome; topics may involve basic, translational, or clinical research. No preliminary data are required.
This award supports early-stage investigators of exceptional creativity who propose bold and highly innovative research projects with the potential to produce a major impact on broad, important areas relevant to the mission of NIH. The SCIMS program is designed to provide research-based knowledge to support a multidisciplinary system of rehabilitation care for people with spinal cord injury. For purposes of this program, SCI is defined as a clinically discernible degree of neurologic impairment of the spinal cord. SCIMS Centers must conduct site-specific and collaborative research, and must also collect and contribute data to the SCIMS longitudinal database.
This BAA seeks revolutionary research ideas for topics not being addressed by ongoing IPTO programs or other published solicitations. The office's current portfolio is centered on three primary thrust areas: AI Innovation and Execution; Inherent Security and Privacy; and Resilient Megasystems.
The purpose of this program is to support collaborative teams who edit, annotate, and translate foundational humanities texts that are vital to generating new scholarship but are not available in adequate editions or translations. This year’s competition is limited to projects on American history and culture or Western civilization.
Medtronic’s surgical technology research grant program seeks to support novel research that pushes the frontiers of surgical science forward. The purpose of these grants is to support academic science and engineering labs in the pursuit of novel technologies that will improve patient outcomes. Successful proposals might address important questions such as how to improve clinical outcomes by improving an existing technology, inventing a new technology or applying a technology from a different industry to surgery.
The Targeted Grants to Institutes program is intended to support established institutes or centers in the mathematics and theoretical basic physical sciences through funding to help strengthen contacts within the international scientific community. Grants are up to $750,000.
The Hinrich Foundation supports trade research projects that advance the understanding of global trade issues and support policy development. The Foundation’s international trade research program promotes research across trade-related sectors, with priority areas listed in order: trade governance, the geopolitics of trade, foreign direct investment, global supply chain resilience and security, digital trade, innovation, and technology, trade and environmental sustainability, trade workforce and education, industrial competitiveness and economic development, natural resources in trade, and trade logistics and services.
