The goal of the OAIC program is to establish centers of excellence in geriatrics research and research education to increase scientific knowledge leading to better ways to maintain or restore independence in older persons. OAIC awards are designed to develop or strengthen programs that focus on, and sustain progress in, a key area of aging research related to the mission of the OAIC program.
This program seeks cooperative agreements proposing coordinated efforts to accelerate gene discovery for psychiatric disorders in cohorts of non-European ancestry to advance our understanding of the genetic architecture of mental illnesses across ancestrally diverse global populations.
This program aims to support basic and exploratory research projects to advance our understanding of Treponema pallidum bacterial pathogenesis. Notably, applications require a “Plan for Enhancing Diverse Perspectives.”
This program supports the development and validation of next-generation tools, methods, and analytic approaches to precisely quantify behaviors and combine them with simultaneous recordings of brain activity in humans. Tools used for measuring and analyzing behavior should be multi-modal, with the appropriate accuracy, specificity, temporal resolution, and flexibility necessary for integration with existing tools used to measure and modulate the brain circuits that give rise to those behaviors.
This program aims to support the creation of standards for data as well as metadata and related coordination activities that will allow researchers to easily access data from personal tracking devices and integrate those data for subsequent data analysis. The recipients will be expected to partner with device manufacturers, the researcher community, and other interested parties such as ethics experts if the effort is going to be successful.
This program aims to conduct research on patient-centered clinical decision support, a nascent area within the larger field of CDS. Resources are now publicly available for interested researchers to further build upon, develop, and test, in real-world settings. Innovative research is needed to understand how to make traditional, clinician-facing CDS more patient-centered, while also engaging patients, families, and caregivers in a co-design process to design and implement these tools.
The National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics welcomes efforts by the research community to use NCSES or other data to conduct research on the S&T enterprise, develop improved survey methodologies that could benefit NCSES surveys, explore alternate data sources that could supplement NCSES data, create and improve indicators of S&T activities and resources, strengthen methodologies to analyze S&T statistical data, and explore innovative ways to communicate S&T statistics.
The BrightFocus Foundation is a premier private funder of research to defeat Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. The foundation invites applications for its Alzheimer’s Disease Research Program, which will award grants to researchers pursuing pioneering research that to greater understanding, prevention, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
This program provides support for collaborative exploratory work that opens new ground for comprehensively assessing or mitigating the impacts of climate change on human health. This program will support both individual scientists and multi-investigator teams. Early-career faculty are especially encouraged to apply, whether individually or within teams.
Through this RFP, grants will be awarded to support meetings, workshops, conferences, summer schools, research collaboration gatherings, and other events related to astronomy, cosmology, fundamental physics, climate change science, as well as increasing the representation and retention of underrepresented groups within these areas.
The John Templeton Foundation aims to create a world where people are curious about the wonders of the universe, free to pursue lives of meaning and purpose, and motivated by great and selfless love. The Foundation welcomes grant applications to support field-leading research and high impact public engagement programs in these areas: Character and Virtue Development; Life Sciences; Mathematical and Physical Sciences; Public Engagement; Individual Freedom and Free Markets; and Religion, Science, and Society.
