Below is a recap of research funding opportunities that were recently announced, nationwide. While these alerts are intended to provide you with a broad-reaching overview of the opportunities available, we certainly want to hear if there are specific opportunities that you would like to pursue. FEDERAL GRANTS

Grant Name: NCI Community Oncology Research Program Community Sites (UG1) (NIH)
Summary:  NCORP is designed to enhance generalizability and dissemination of clinical trial and other human subject research study results through accrual in a variety of community settings. The purpose of NCORP is to engage cancer patient populations, those at risk of cancer, and organizations in rigorous studies focused on cancer control, prevention, treatment and care delivery.
Eligibility: There are no eligibility restrictions.
Dates:  Proposals are due by September 18, 2026.
Grant Name: Early-Stage Development of Informatics Technologies for Cancer Research and Management (U01) (NIH)
Summary:  This program solicits applications for the development of enabling informatics technologies to improve the acquisition, management, analysis, and dissemination of data and knowledge across the cancer research continuum including cancer biology, cancer treatment and diagnosis, early cancer detection, risk assessment and prevention, cancer control and epidemiology. As a component of the NCI's Informatics Technology for Cancer Research (ITCR) Program, this NOFO is focused on early-stage development from prototyping to initial dissemination.

Dates:  Standard NIH dates through October 2027.
Grant Name: INCLUDE Project: Exploratory/Developmental Research Awards for Down Syndrome (R21) (NIH)
Summary:  This program seeks to improve health and quality-of-life for individuals with Down syndrome and invites researchers to submit applications for support of new exploratory and developmental research projects that address critical needs for Down syndrome projects, as articulated in the INCLUDE Project objectives. For example, such projects could assess the feasibility of a novel area of investigation or a new experimental system that has the potential to enhance health-related research.

Dates:  Standard NIH dates through June 2028.
Grant Name: Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award (MIRA) for Early-Stage Investigators (R35) (NIH)
Summary:  This program provides support for ESIs with a program of research that aligns with the NIGMS mission. MIRA distributes funding among promising investigators across the country. The goal is to boost scientific productivity and the chances for important breakthroughs. Through this program, investigators can receive independent research funding early to start and sustain strong research careers.

Dates:  Standard NIH dates through February 2029.
Grant Name: EDU Core Research (NSF)
Summary:  The EDU Core Research (ECR) program invites proposals for fundamental research (curiosity-driven basic research and use-inspired basic research) that contributes to the general, explanatory knowledge that underlies STEM education in one or more of the three broadly conceived Research Areas: Research on STEM Learning and Learning Environments, Research on Broadening Participation in STEM fields, and Research on STEM Workforce Development.
Eligibility: There are no eligibility restrictions.
Dates:  Proposals are due by October 1, 2026.
Grant Name: Equipment Grants Program (USDA)
Summary:  This program serves to increase access to shared-use special purpose equipment/instruments for fundamental and applied research for use in the food and agricultural sciences programs at institutions of higher education, including State Cooperative Extension Systems. The program seeks to strengthen the quality and expand the scope of fundamental and applied research at eligible institutions by providing them with opportunities to acquire one shared-use piece of equipment/instrument that supports their research, research training, and extension goals that may be too costly and/or not appropriate for support through other NIFA grant programs.

Dates:  Proposals are due by June 25, 2026.
Grant Name: Supplemental and Alternative Crops (USDA NIFA)
Summary:  The SAC program supports projects that lead to expanded adaptation and increased acreage in the United States of alternative crops grown for food/feedstuff, oil, and feedstocks for industrial value-added products. Such crops are important to U.S. agriculture in that these can provide new and profitable cropping options in response to low commodity prices and changes in consumer demand for new agricultural-based products.

FOUNDATION GRANTS

Grant Name: Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance: AI Accelerator Grant
Summary:  The program supports international, data-intensive research collaborations that apply AI, including machine learning, to advance ovarian cancer research and improve patient outcomes. OCRA is partnering with Amazon Web Services to offer additional compute support through this grant program in the form of cloud-based compute credits to enable data-intensive AI research.
Eligibility: There are no eligibility restrictions.
Dates:  LOIs are due by June 23, 2026.
Grant Name: Sociological Initiatives Foundation: Research Grants
Summary:  The Sociological Initiatives Foundation supports social change by linking research to social action. It funds research projects that investigate laws, policies, institutions, regulations, and normative practices that may limit equality in the U.S. It prioritizes projects that address racism, xenophobia, classism, gender bias, exploitation, or the violation of human rights and freedoms. It also supports research that furthers language learning and behavior and its intersection with social and policy questions.
Eligibility: There are no eligibility restrictions.
Dates:  Proposals are due by August 14, 2026.
