Hanover Research: Higher Education Research Grant Alerts

Below is a recap of research funding opportunities that were recently announced, nationwide. While these alerts are intended to provide you with a broad-reaching overview of the opportunities available, we certainly want to hear if there are specific opportunities that you would like to pursue. Please let your Content Director know if you have any questions or are interested in learning more.

In addition, Hanover is closely monitoring developments surrounding COVID-19. Notable news items this week include the National Science Foundation posting a notice entitled “Extension of Administrative Relief for Recipients and Applicants of Federal Financial Assistance Directly Impacted by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) due to Loss of Operations.” Also, the U.S. Department of Education has posted a new webinar on CARES Act funding distribution as well as a final deadline (August 1, 2020) for IHEs that have not yet applied to receive their allocations from the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund.

As always, our COVID Grant Alerts dashboard profiles all relevant previously announced COVID-19 funding opportunities, which can be sorted by type, agency/funder, and date. Also, as noted in our previous Grant Alerts updates, Candid maintains a helpful search portal for county/state-level COVID funding opportunities (our updates profile national-level prospects only).

Finally, your dedicated Content Director and Relationship Director also are ready to help with custom research solutions to the challenges you are facing.

With the research community making plans for reopening labs, many have expressed interest in benchmarking both best practices for a safe return and expected impacts of COVID-19 on the research enterprise for the coming year. Hanover has created a brief survey instrument to run through the end of June, aiming to distribute results to respondents in early July, to inform plans for the summer and fall semester. There is a different set of questions for administrators versus faculty, so please feel free to review both and pass it along to key faculty stakeholders that would be interested in the results. The survey can be accessed here. While we need respondents’ email addresses to distribute findings, feedback will be anonymized, with the exception of a few institutional characteristics (public vs. private, state of respondent, etc.) to make the analysis of trends more insightful. This survey and sharing of results is purely for research purposes, to benefit our community of grant seekers. Thank you in advance for your participation!
